JOE MAZZA III
Joe Mazza III is the grandson of Joe Mazza Sr., founder of the original Mazza’s Restaurant in Mount Vernon, Ohio, which first opened in 1939 as Buckeye Tavern. A native of central Ohio, Joe has contributed to his family’s restaurant legacy while cultivating a deep appreciation for his community's agricultural roots. While working at Mazza’s, he also built a successful career in the automotive industry and later transitioned to restoring historical buildings, including many prestigious and well-known sites in Mount Vernon. Joe’s passion extends to collecting, buying, and selling historical, rare, and unique collectible items. With a background in HVAC and experience as a facility engineer, Joe is also an entrepreneur in the heating and cooling industry. His book, Mazza Family Secrets: A Taste of Mount Vernon, celebrates his family’s culinary history, featuring cherished recipes and stories from their local journey.
